Are you just trying to survive?
Teaching doesn’t have to feel that way.
Burnout, impostor syndrome, isolation, fear of asking for help, and lack of balance can keep us from reaching our full potential. You became a director because you love music, but there are a million things that pull you away from what you want to do most. Creating an award-winning band program is completely possible, even if you aren’t sure how to get there yet.
Imagine…
Feeling you accomplished everything you wanted during the workday so you can unplug at night
Watching the culture of your band change with every moment of effective communication
Feeling your energy and enthusiasm reciprocated by your students
Feeling confident your teaching methods will allow your students musical freedom
Working with a professional performer to create solutions for your students
Knowing what your students need to begin and to succeed
Teachers Need TEachers too.
We are Katie and Matt. We are professional musicians, educators, and coaches. We started teaching for the same reason you did. We love learning. The classical music industry is known for its intense competition and lack of collaboration. The classical music culture often favors winning over growth. Sound familiar?
The irony is, the more we asked for help, the more we improved. The more we collaborated with colleagues, the bigger our support network grew. Asking for help had always felt like a sign of weakness to us, but the more we asked, the stronger we became as musicians, educators, and leaders.
It’s okay not to have all the answers.
