Katie Velasquez and Matt Richards are the founders of BDSG, professional orchestral musicians, and educators. We have taken thousands of hours of lessons, spent more than 10,000 hours in the practice room perfecting our craft and performed with some of the most respected orchestras in the country. Even with our expertise, we realized that being able to effectively communicate our knowledge to students is an ART.
We created Band Directors Survival Guide – an educational platform that connects leading professional musicians with Band Directors and students alike.
The first years of musical instruction are pivotal for students both technically and musically. We developed an instructional platform focused on musical performance. We get our students to buy-in to our purpose, we effectively communicate the musical concepts, and we adapt to our student’s needs. Our system gets results.
